This Months blog post has so kindly been sent in by Sonny's owner Pat Walsh. I'm always pleased to recieve feedback about the dogs we breed. I would like to thank Pat for taking the time to send in his write up and for the accompanying pictures of Sonny. We've been lucky enough to have Sonny since he was 8 weeks old and he's just had his first birthday last month. I've personally been an admirer of the Riskys dogs for a long time but previously owned rescue dogs. I knew in my heart that if I was ever to get a Stafford from a breeder then I would love to get one from the Riskys line. Well the time was right last year when the opportunity came up to get a dog from the Taz and Sid breeding and soon afterwards we picked up Sonny. The first year with him has been fantastic and we couldn't be happier. I've had energetic dogs before, especially the American Bulldog mix that we owned, but Sonny is on another level. He has several walks a day with at least one of them lasting 70 to 80 minutes, sometimes longer, but he would happily walk and run all day. He loves coming dog scootering with me, although he lets me do all the work, but hopefully as he matures he'll start to learn to enjoy pulling the scooter bit. He also loves the flirtpole and the springploe and although he's not overly keen on chasing balls out on his walks he'll happily chase them in the back garden. He has many dog friends who he enjoys playing with but needs to learn that not all of them have his energy sometimes ! I look forward to hopefully many more years with Sonny watching him develop. He already has great definition in my opinion and i'm sure he has much more to come. I'd like to thank Gary & Chris for giving us the opportunity to have Sonny and for producing such wonderful dogs . I forgot to mention as well as being a great dog as far as stamina goes Sonny also is extremely loving towards us and that's something I always like about a good Staffordshire bull Terrier as much as all the other positive behaviours.... Now if only he'd stop eating my socks ... Regards Pat Walsh..
